BREAKING: THE LION OF NEW HAVEN TAKES THE WATCH

(FNN) — SAN FRANCISCO — Starfleet Command has officially confirmed that Commodore Ethan James O'Donnaghe has been appointed as the first Commanding Officer of Citadel Station, the Federation’s newest Watchtower-class bastion in the Beta Quadrant.

O'Donnaghe, a name synonymous with frontier grit, is a survivor of the infamous Battle of Wolf 359. Having served as a young Helmsman aboard the USS Arlington, the Commodore’s career has been defined by the vacuum of space and the weight of command. Most recently, he was credited with maintaining the peace in the Gamma Quadrant as the architect of New Haven Station, where he commanded the largest fleet detachment in the sector.

"Ethan doesn't just hold a line; he builds it. He saw the fire at Wolf 359 and spent the next forty years making sure the Federation had a shield strong enough to keep the dark at bay. Citadel couldn't be in safer hands."

— Admiral T'Vrell, Starfleet Tactical

The appointment comes at a critical time. With the Romulan Republic struggling to maintain order in the wake of the supernova and the rise of fanatical "Warlords" like the self-proclaimed Prophet Harem, O'Donnaghe’s experience with decentralized threats in the Gamma Quadrant will be vital.

The Commodore will oversee operations of the USS Avalon and the defense of the Republic borders. When asked for a statement before departing New Haven, O'Donnaghe was brief: "We go where the light is dimming to make sure it doesn't go out. Citadel is that light."
