Rules and Guidelines
Welcome to the USS Avalon. To ensure a fun and collaborative writing environment, all players are expected to adhere to the following guidelines.
1. Conduct & Expectations
- Respect: This is a collaborative writing environment. Discrimination, harassment, or OOC (Out-of-Character) hostility will not be tolerated.
- Age Requirement: Due to the mature themes and complexity of the writing, all players must be 18 years of age or older.
- IC vs. OOC: Keep character conflicts (In-Character) separate from player interactions (Out-of-Character).
2. Posting Standards
- Activity: Players are expected to post at least once every 14 days. If you cannot meet this requirement, please notify the Command Staff or set your status to LOA (Leave of Absence).
- Format: All posts should be written in the third-person, past tense (e.g., "He walked..." not "I walk...").
- God-Moding: Do not control other players' characters or determine the outcome of an attack/action against them without prior OOC permission.
- Joint Posts (JPs): When participating in a Joint Post, please aim to return tags within 48-72 hours to keep the story moving.
3. Simulation Rating
The USS Avalon maintains a rating of 2-2-2 (MSRB). This means:
- Language: Moderate (standard "television" swearing).
- Sex: Non-explicit (fade-to-black).
- Violence: Moderate (descriptive but not gratuitous).
4. Chain of Command
While we encourage creative freedom, the Starfleet Rank structure exists to provide a framework for the story. Please follow the directions of your Department Heads and Command Staff during missions.
Failure to follow these rules may result in a formal warning or removal from the simulation. If you have questions, please contact the CO or XO.
